Bowleys Estate Red Pinot Noir, Cabernet Noir and Rondo

THE GRAPE – A delicate and silky-smooth red that’s been aged for 12 months in Bordeaux premier cru barrels. A medium-bodied wine with light tannins and ripe hedgerow berry flavours on the nose and palette. Serve lightly chilled with lamb, game, and roasted vegetables.

APPEARANCE – Midnight dark

NOSE – Dark fruit, currants, bell pepper and vanilla.

HOW IS IT MADE– By getting it into the winery quickly, removing the stems from the bunches and macerating for 10 days punching down the skins into the must encouraging the interaction with the skins and fermenting juices. One third is fermented and aged in barrel during malolactic and then on lees for 6 months. After it is racked and bottled

Bowleys Estate Single Variety Rosé

100% Rondo

THE GRAPE – 100% English Rondo With a palette of strawberries and cream this is a light and refreshing rosé, made for easy sipping on a sunny afternoon.

APPEARANCE – Deceivingly dark as a rose, but don’t be fooled this fruity dry rose is fantastic – very easy drinking.

NOSE – A hit of red hedgerow berries

TASTE – Like the start of the English summer. Refreshing, strawberry with a creamy undertone, so drinkable and only 10.5% alcohol content!

COMPLEMENTS – Pair with smoked salmon, seafood and salads.

HOW IS IT MADE – By getting it from vine to winery within the hour. The green stems from the bunches are removed and held in the press for half an hour before extracting the juice – this gives it a wonderful colour. The juice is fermented in a stainless steel tank and kept from fermenting too hot. The wine is kept on lees for over a month to bring the creamy notes to the wine. It is then finely filtered before bottling.

Bowleys Estate White Bacchus and Ortega

THE GRAPE – 100% English Bacchus and Ortega Grapes grown on Red Hill estate a characterful blend of contact Bacchus and barrel fermented Ortega that has been aged for 18 months in steel and naturally clarified.

APPEARANCE – Green to Gold in colour.

NOSE – Elderflower and green fruits

TASTE – Delicious flavours of grapefruit, peach and melon with an elderflower nose.

COMPLEMENTS – Pair with English asparagus, creamy pastas, fish and white meats.

VINTAGE BRUT – KENT

SMALL VINTAGE ENGLISH SPARKLING WINE.

THE GRAPE – 100% English premium blend – 64% Chardonnay and 36% Pinot Noir

APPEARANCE – light, slightly golden with fine bubble and rich mousse

TASTE – The palate is fresh with a bright streak of citrus fruit, lemongrass and baked apple, with a strong persistent fizz which leads to a refreshingly dry finish.

COMPLEMENTS – Beautifully balanced, this refreshing wine is best enjoyed as an excellent apéritif to accompany canapés, or as a rewarding partner to seafood.

HOW IS IT MADE – By getting the handpicked bunches into the winery from vine to press within the hour, fermenting slowly in stainless steel and resting on lees to mellow before racking, filtering and bottling. Made in the traditional method on-site and aged on its lees for approximately three years before disgorging.

CABERNET NOIR

EXTREMELY LIMITED PRODUCTION

THE GRAPE – 100% English Cabernet Noir grapes grown on the estate. A Swiss hybrid of Cabernet Sauvignon and an unknown variety develop by Valentin Blattner in 1991. It is resistant to mildews so requires lower or no chemical input both in the vineyard and winery. The variety is slower growing due to its smaller leaves and canopy development. Picked late from the single plot and beautifully clean bunches.

APPEARANCE – Midnight dark

NOSE – Dark fruit, currants, bell pepper and vanilla.

TASTE – Like a rich American Cabernet. The flavours of ripe damsons, dark fruits black and bell pepper. Potentially the fullest bodied red wine in the UK – we are very proud of the production!

COMPLEMENTS – Great in front of a warm fire or with wholesome foods
