We are a 26-cover fine dining restaurant in the village of Trottiscliffe, Kent.

We focus on seasonality and sustainability, with much of our produce grown in our own kitchen garden just 300 metres away.

Led by Head Chef Alex Yates and General Manager Grace Yates, Bowleys offers refined, field-to-fork dining in a warm, intimate setting.

Our Story

In 2020, the Yates family, together with the local community, stepped in to save The Plough — a beautiful 15th-century Grade II-listed pub in the heart of Trottiscliffe.

Rooted in the historic Bowley brewing legacy from Bristol, the family transformed the inn into Bowleys at The Plough, an intimate 26-cover fine dining restaurant. Today, Head Chef Alex and General Manager Grace continue this proud family tradition, creating refined seasonal British cuisine with produce from their own kitchen garden just down the lane.
