The Nursery – From Soil to Service

At Bowleys, The Nursery is more than just a garden — it’s the heart of everything we do.

Just 300 metres from our kitchen, The Nursery is where our team grows the vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers that shape our seasonal menus. Tended daily by the Bowleys team, each crop is nurtured with care and respect for the land, following the rhythms of the seasons and we are constantly working on reducing our environmental impact and strive for long-term sustainability.

This hands-on approach means our chefs and bartenders harvest fresh ingredients each day, walking straight from soil to service with baskets full of flavour. Whether it’s rocket for a salad, mint for a cocktail, or heirloom tomatoes for our focaccia, the journey from plant to plate couldn’t be shorter—or fresher.

Born out of a commitment to sustainability, The Nursery has helped us reduce food miles and makes local, seasonal dining more than a philosophy—it’s our daily practice.

By growing our own produce, involving the whole team, and working with nature rather than against it, we’re proud to offer food and drink that’s truly rooted in Trottiscliffe.
